The Resource Editor helps you quickly create custom congregational booklets (worship aids) and music packets. This guide introduces key features and shows you how to navigate the Resource Editor.
The information in this article applies to all Source & Summit customers.
What can you create in the Resource Editor?
You can create congregational booklets and music packets from your Ordo in the following formats:
Packet - Full page layout
Best for preparing sheet music and larger documents, typically used by choirs, cantors, and accompanists.
Booklet - Folded bi-fold or tri-fold layout
Best for condensed information, typically used as congregational booklets (worship aids) for congregations.
Image Files - Cropped image files of Ordo sections
Best if you’d like to create a worship aid in another program.
Custom
Best if you need specific dimensions not offered in the preset options.
Accessing the Resource Editor
Open or create an Ordo.
Customize your Ordo with music and text selections.
Click the Create Resource button in the bottom-right corner.
Select your resource format and document dimensions.
→ The Resource Editor will open.
Pro Tip
Use the Roles feature in the Ordo Editor before entering the Resource Editor to create materials for different groups. Go to Using Roles to learn more.
Opening existing resources
From the Resource Editor
Click Resources in the left panel. A menu will open with your past resources for the open Ordo.
From the Ordo Editor
Click the folder icon in the bottom bar to view resources for the open Ordo. A list of your resources for that celebration will pop up.
Looking for a resource from another date?
Open the corresponding Ordo from your home dashboard first. Then, click the folder icon in the bottom bar to access Ordos from that date.
Navigating the Resource Editor
The left panel contains five menus to customize your resource:
Document - Make changes across your entire resource, such as content size, margins, and page numbers
Outline - Navigate your resource and hide unneeded sections
Elements - Add visual components like spacers and dividers
Images - Upload and insert images
Resources - View and manage existing resources for your Ordo

Hiding sections in your resource
Configure your Outline to display only the parts you want to include in your resource.
Click Outline from the left panel.
Hover over the section you would like to remove.
Click the eye icon to hide it.
Any sections that you hide will not change the contents of your Ordo.
Saving and renaming
Resources save automatically in the Resource Editor. Here’s how to rename your file to help you find and manage your different files:
From the Resources Editor
Click the file name in the top bar.
Type a new name in the field.
From the resources menu
Click Resources in the left panel.
Select the Resource you’d like to rename.
Click the more options menu in the top right corner.
Click the pencil icon.
Type a new name in the title field.
Pro Tip
Use clear and consistent naming to make files easier to find.
Duplicating a Resource
Once you’ve created a resource, you may wish to create another one with similar settings. If so, you can duplicate your resource to save you time.
Click the Resources in the left panel.
Select the resource you’d like to duplicate.
Click the more options menu in the top right corner.
Select Duplicate.
To continue working on the same resource click Stay Here. To begin working on the duplicate resource, click Open Duplicate.
Rename the duplicate resource.
Sharing resources
The Resource Editor is optimized for creating printable documents. Whether you choose to print your resource or send it to someone via email, Download your resource first.
To email or print:
Click Download in the Resource Editor:
-Packets and Booklets download as PDFs
-Image Files download as a .zip fileOpen the file from your computer’s Downloads folder.
Use your system tools (Adobe Reader, Preview, Microsoft Edge, Gmail, etc.) to print or email the file.
