Learn how to access audio playback, share audio with your team, and use customizable playback settings to help your singers learn their music.

The information in this article applies to all Source & Summit customers.

Audio-Enabled Collections

Listen to audio recordings or send them to team members by selecting pieces from audio-enabled collections.

When you add a piece of music marked with a music icon or a speaker icon to your Ordo, musicians will automatically receive an audio recording when you share your Ordo with them.

Definitions

- A MIDI keyboard playback is available.
Changing the key will automatically adjust the playback. This is helpful for choir members learning their part in a different key.

- An audio recording is available for the piece.
Available for many chant recordings, this feature is especially helpful for singers first learning the vocal style and rhythm of chant.

Listening to Audio Playback in your Ordo

  1. Open or create an Ordo.

  2. Select a hymn or an antiphon.

  3. Click the Play button in the bottom bar.

How to share recordings

  1. Open or create an existing Ordo.

  2. Make all music selections and customizations.

  3. Follow the steps to share your Ordo with individuals or groups.
    → Audios will send automatically.

Note

Audio only shares when you send directly from the Ordo Editor. It won’t be included in a downloaded PDF from the Resource Editor.

Accessing Audio Playback in a Shared Ordo

Provide these steps for team members receiving Ordos:

  1. Open your email and click View Ordo.

  2. Choose a Role View from the top bar. This will adjust the audio settings across the entire Ordo as well as playback options:

Cantor - SATB or Melody
Choir Member - SATB
Accompanist
- SATB, Chords
Congregation
- Melody, Text only

Pro Tip

To listen to an isolated choir part, select an SATB view.

  1. Scroll through the Ordo. Sections with audio playback will have the play icon in the top-right corner.

  2. Click the play icon   to listen.  

Customizing playback

Ordos contain audio playback options to help choir members and accompanists prepare for rehearsal. Once you follow the steps above, here’s how to personalize how you hear audio:

  1. Click the music icon in the bottom bar.

    → Playback options will open.

  2. Select your Part:

    S - Soprano
    A - Alto
    T - Tenor
    B - Bass

  3. Choose a playback style:

    Solo - Hear your part alone.
    Muted - Mute your part.
    Prominent - Emphasize your part within the others.

  4. Adjust Playback Speed:
    Choose from .5 (slowest) to 1.5 (fastest).
